I-rise is a program based on using stories to educate students about human rights. We believe that the human experience, the human story, is what connects us and binds us together collectively.

All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood. -Universal Declaration of Human Rights

We want students to learn about the Declaration of Human rights by recording the stories of people suffering. We would like them to gather the information for these stories with students around the world. Our website will be dedicated to capturing these stories and later using the information we gathered as a basis for simulations on a human right issue. We not only want students to feel connected with the world but we want the world to connect with them. Hopefully this will instill a life-long feeling of universal responsibility.
